11-Day Off Roading to the Wild Central Greek Mountains

Overland trip for those looking for adventure in the hidden and unknown mountainous Greece. Tour in 4×4 inaccessible routes and forest roads, embracing iconic mountains and forests, where the only good they have in abundance is the wild beauty of their landscapes. We will have enough time to explore alpine lakes, refreshing rivers, enjoy amazing views, eat unique food, meet exceptional people & make lifetime memories.

Our mission in RT is the exploration of nature, of wildlife, the appreciation of crystal clear waters, dense forests, to let mankind thrive into the wild, respecting the boundaries of the Greek fauna. We will explore alpine lakes, refreshing rivers, enjoy amazing views, eat unique food, meet exceptional people & make lifetime memories. All participants are requested to respect all the wild animals we may encounter, not destroy/cut/remove endangered plants. 

Day 1 | Time to start the exploration!
On the starting day, meeting time is between 10.30 – 11.30 AM & departure time 12:30 AM from RT premises. The schedule for this day is kind of relaxing and introductive. Even so, waterfalls and famous cities will be visited!

Day 2 | The underground mine
Have you ever been into an underground museum? An underground tour into the mines of Mt. Parnassus awaits with explanation and translation in more than 10 languages! The mood of the day will continue to be medieval since we will enjoy a beautiful park and will visit the Iron Throne!

Day 3 | Have you heard the tales of the dragons?
Stalactites made of ice, vanishing rivers, lakes with dragon babies, are some of the surprises we kept for this day. We are not going to reveal all of our secrets from here though! You should join us to find out more. Our team will gladly show you all the secrets of the Greek wildlife and moreover, share the beauty of Greece.

Day 4 | The true 4×4 experience
The beautiful experiences do not stop here! We keep the adrenaline to the maximum level with wild off roading. Let’s enjoy the experience of driving on the top of a mountain ridge. We will use low speed gear and we will crawl on the backbone of mountain Kokalia. Around the afternoon, we will reach our destination with drinks and laughs at a local bar!

Day 5 | An active day…
Activities (kindly see below), energy, pictures and delicious food are the main idea for this day. Needless to say that during our activities we will give out as much information as we can about the Greek wildlife and survival tips.

Day 6 | New experiences await!
This day is like no other! You can either sunbathe next to the fresh river waters, cook your favorite food, sleep to recharge, or drive an off road buggy over the mountains, go to remote villages, swerve your vehicle in the forest and swim under hidden waterfalls.

Day 7 | The unconquered : Agrafa
Agrafa is a region that still remains completely surrendered to wild beauty. Agrafa in Greek means something that was never written. Literally this area was never considered as part of Greece by the conquerors due to its inaccessible nature. We will have to luxury to cross Agrafa villages, exploring all of their secrets! A good night sleep by the river is something to look forward to!

Day 8 | Night sleep with a lake view
Our final destination for this day is Platira’s Lake. That lake is an artificial lake fed by Tavropos river, built in 1960’s. Before that, we will have to cross mountain ridges, rivers, ghost villages, gorges and so much more!

Day 10 | Witness the wild side of Greece
Leaving Lake Plastira behind, we will start our journey fresh and rested. Heading to the West, we will move towards Vragiana, exploring Eastern and Northern Agrafa. We will camp next to a traditional tavern, or at any other convenient spot, under the thousands stars of the night sky.

Day 11 | Have you seen a waterfall bridge?
Our descend is through Oxia traditional village, where we will head towards Koziakas mountain. We will head towards a bridge that is next to a waterfall to rest and take pictures. Full of new memories, there will be a free / individual return to Athens.
